<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support hands free speakerphone functionality in a compact telephone footprint. <P>SOLUTION: An acoustic pass through is provided in a telephone handset 102 for sounds transmitted from a hands free operation speaker 114 laid out underneath the handset.
