Apparatus and methods relating to wireless communications in, for example, Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks are described. A measurement pattern for at least one automatic gain control tracking loop in a user equipment device is determined, when resource restrictions have been applied to the user equipment device, the resource restrictions comprising at least one measurement restriction pattern. Then automatic gain control measurements are performed by the user equipment device according to the measurement patterns of the at least one automatic gain control tracking loop.
