WINTER TYRE

A winter tyre has a tread pattern comprising two particularly wide longitudinal grooves (12, 13) so as to create in a footprint area working zones of the tread band - a central zone (LI) and two shoulder zones (L2, L3) - which are substantially independent of each other; the central zone (LI) occupies a substantial part of the tread band and comprises a plurality of circumferentially consecutive blocks provided with sipes (40) arranged in an oblique direction with respect to the equatorial plane of the tyre; the inclination of the sipes (40) formed in circumferentially adjacent blocks alternates in the circumferential direction, forming sequences of inclined and counter-inclined sipes.
