<p>A switching circuit (13) has a charging switch (31) and a discharging switch (32). When the charging switch is on, a battery section (21) is charged by the electric power from an electric power source (ACP, 16), and when the discharging switch is on, the power discharging from the battery section is output to a load (LD). If there is abnormal heat generation or other anomaly in the battery section, a main control unit (11) immediately turns off a breaker unit (14) provided between the switching circuit and the battery section. If the anomaly is noncritical, such as a communication anomaly, and does not immediately threaten the safety of the battery section and so forth, a hold time is set and the breaker unit is kept in the on-state until the hold time expires.</p> |
