<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface emitting laser module capable of a high-speed motion. <P>SOLUTION: A surface emission laser module comprises: a surface emission laser chip having a surface emission laser device emitting light in a vertical direction with respect to a semiconductor substrate surface; and a dielectric substrate connected with a lateral face of the surface emission laser chip. The surface emission laser chip includes a signal electrode formed on one surface that emits light and a back ground electrode on another surface opposite to the surface on which the signal electrode is formed. The dielectric substrate includes a signal transmission line formed on one surface and connected with the signal electrode.
