<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily suck and remove the residue 18 that deposits in the upstream side of a filter plate 6 to the downstream side. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid jet head 1 includes a filter unit 2 and an ejection head 3, and the filter unit 2 has a first chamber 4, a second chamber 5, and a filter plate 6 that partitions the first chamber 4 and the second chamber 5. A vertical direction to the plate surface of the filter plate 6 is assumed to be a depth direction of the second chamber 5 and the second chamber 5 comprises a suction area R where the neighborhood of the outlet 8 is shallower than the outside in depth.
