LIGHT SOURCE MODULE, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source module which enhances coupling efficiency from a light source to a light guide plate without accompanying processing of the light guide plate and can reduce luminance unevenness of the light guide plate, and also to provide a liquid crystal display device equipped with the same.

SOLUTION: A backlight includes: an LED substrate 24a; a light-emitting part 23c which is equipped with a plurality of LED chips 23a linearly arranged on the LED substrate 24a, a sealing resin for sealing the LED chips 23a and a dam 26a for surrounding the periphery of the sealing resin; a light guide plate; and an optical coupling member which optically couples incident light from the light-emitting part 23c by reflecting it by a curved surface so as to make it obliquely incident on the light guide plate from a top-part flat surface on an underside of the light guide plate. The dam 26a has a joint J. The joint J is located at a position on the same line as the plurality of the LED chips 23a linearly arranged in of the dam 26a or located on the side opposite to the advancing direction of reflection light on a curved surface 32a of the optical coupling member with respect to the LED chips 23a.
