<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for a vehicle with which a displayed image displayed by a transmissive display element being a type having a polarization plane in a specific direction can be viewed even when polarizing sunglasses are used. <P>SOLUTION: The display device for a vehicle includes: a display 12 for emitting emitted display light having a polarization plane in a specific direction; an illumination light source 14 for illuminating the display 12; and a quarter-wave plate or a half-wave plate 60 provided so as to face the display in a state where a fast axis is deviated, by a predetermined angle, from the polarization plane of the emitted display light emitted by the display 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
