<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic air conditioner, which is configured to have durability, reduce mechanical and thermal losses, and improve heat transport capacity and heat transport efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic air conditioner includes: a heat transporter in which magnetic bodies 10A-10F having the magnetocaloric effect, and heat conduction units 30A-30G for transferring heat of the magnetic bodies 10A-10F are alternately arranged; a low-temperature side heat exchange unit 40A arranged on one end of the heat transporter across the heat conduction unit 30A; a high-temperature side heat exchange unit 40B arranged on the other end of the heat transporter across the heat conduction unit 30G; and magnetism application and removal units 20A-20F for selectively applying/removing the magnetism to/from the magnetic bodies 10A-10F of the heat transporter. The heat conduction units 30A-30G are expanded/contracted in the arrangement direction to the magnetic bodies 10A-10F to intermittently continue the heat conduction to the magnetic bodies 10A-10F, by making use of the magnetism to be applied/removed to/from the magnetic bodies 10A-10F by the magnetism application and removal units 20A-20F. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
