<p>Until an output voltage detected by an output voltage detection unit (3) exceeds an output voltage feedback switching determination value, a control unit (6) controls the duty cycle in a DC/DC converter (2) so as to maintain a target current by using feedback of the output current detected by an output current detection unit (4). If the output voltage exceeds the output voltage feedback switching determination value before a discharge lamp (14) is lit, the control unit (6) controls the duty cycle of the DC/DC converter (2) so as to maintain an OCV limiting value by using feedback of the output voltage. If the discharge lamp (14) is lit and the output voltage falls below the output voltage feedback switching determination value, the control unit (6) returns to duty cycle control based on the feedback of the output current.</p> |
