<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable continuing steering auxiliary treating as much as possible even when a memory fails. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This electric power steering device includes a RAM 103 which is a working region of a CPU, and a memory failure detection and assist propriety determination part 211 for detecting failure of the RAM 103 before or during execution of assist treating, and when detecting failure, determining whether or not the failure allows execution of the assist treating based on a failure bit. When the failure is determined to allow execution of the assist treating by the memory failure detection and assist propriety determination part 211, the assist treating is started or continued.
