<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for enabling a user to easily obtain a position relationship between a facility as a target and a recommended route. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An arithmetic processing section 1 of a navigation apparatus 100 comprises: a route guiding section 105 for displaying the recommended route on a map, and guiding the route; and a left/right segmented image processing section 106 for displaying an image having different features on left and right sides of the recommended route on the map. The image displayed by the left/right segmented image processing section 106 has the feature represented by a first color in a map area at the left side of the recommended route, and the feature represented by a second color different from the first color in a map area at the right side of the recommended route.
