A plate-shaped discharge electrode 1 Fig. 1, has ridges 2 of trapezoidal cross-section alternately projecting on opposite sides of the electrode. Corona discharge points 4 are arranged on those faces of the ridges, as at 3, which are parallel to the main plane of the electrode. The electrodes are strung on or supported by rods, as at 10, Fig. 6a or supported by a beam 11, and may be cleaned by a napper 9. |
