[Class 117.] In apparatus of the kind described in Specification 249,098, [Class 117, Sifting &c.], for sorting fruit, bulbs, and other horticultural produce, the spring fingers r for clearing the grading apertures are divided into two groups of transverse rows corresponding to the even and odd rows of apertures, the members of the two groups working in opposite phase. In the construction described the spindles ql, q<3> carrying one group of fingers and the spindles q<2>, q<4> carrying the other group are respectively connected to bars h<2>, h<3>, driven by a two-armed lever t. In a modification the members may be subdivided into more than two groups.</p> |
