<p>The invention relates to a rise and fall seat mechanism for moving a user from within a bath to outside the bath, the mechanism comprising a vertical telescopic pillar having inner and outer portions 21, 22 which telescope with respect to each other. The mechanism further comprises an actuator 26 having a shaft 25 within the pillar to raise the inner portion, and a means to control rotation of the inner portion. The means comprises a tube 30 of non-circular section extending within and substantially concentrically with the inner portion 21, a ring 34 fixed within the inner portion 21 and an aperture matching the section of the tube. A means 32, 33 fixed to the tube at its bottom end to control its axial rotation, whereby the rotation of the said inner portion 21 is also controlled.</p> |
