Clutch facing and compounded rubber composition usable therefor

A clutch facing is composed of glass fibers, a thermosetting resin and a compounded rubber. The compounded rubber is mixed with a diatomaceous earth within a range of 3 vol% to 18 vol%. The glass fibers are impregnated with a phenol resin as the thermosetting resin. The compounded rubber is coated on the resin impregnated glass fibers. The diatomaceous earth exhibits a reinforcing effect so as to improve a tensile strength of the compounded rubber at a temperature of 200°C.
