System and method for loading and unloading trays

The system comprises a conveyor (3), which is provided for transporting trays (1). The trays are moved in a transport direction. The strips (7) are arranged perpendicular to the surface of a strip conveyor (6) while lifting the tray from the strip conveyor by a lifting device (8). The strips are inserted into slots of the tray while lowering the tray to the strip conveyor by a lowering device (4). A synchronizing unit is provided for synchronization of slots of the tray with the strips, and comprises a brake unit (11) with a stripping brush or a spring mounted pressure strip. An independent claim is included for a method for loading and unloading of trays loaded with articles.
