[Also in Division C2] An antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal and antitumour antibiotic, alamethicin [see Division C2], or a salt thereof; may be used as a general disinfectant and detergent e.g. in wash solutions for the hands or for the cleaning of equipment. As a preservative, it may be used for impregnating paper and fabrics. It may be used to treat plant diseases. Other antibacterials may be present.
