<p>The machine has a material tensioning device (21) for clamping and holding material to be stitched. The tensioning device has two longitudinal parts (23, 25) that are arranged opposite to each other, where the longitudinal parts comprise material holders i.e. clamping strips. One of the longitudinal parts is fixed at the machine and the other longitudinal part is moved in a spatial direction (61) in a fixed condition of the former longitudinal part for changing distance between the longitudinal parts. The longitudinal parts are connected with one another in a detachable manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a stitching machine.</p> |
