PURPOSE: A method for indicating exchange time of an air filter is provided to prevent cost waste due to an early replacement and to maintain a pleasant environment inside a vehicle by replacing an air filter at an optimal timing. CONSTITUTION: A method for indicating exchange time of an air filter comprises the following steps: detecting whether the air-condition of a vehicle is on an interior air mode or exterior air mode with the start of a vehicle engine(S130); operating a blower and detecting whether the air-condition is on a primary interior air mode or not if the air-condition is on the interior air mode or detecting the on or off condition of the blower if the air-condition is on the exterior air mode(S140); calculating the accumulation and supplying amount of dust in an air filter(S160,S170); calculating the total accumulation of dust in the air filter(S190); and informing the replacement time for the air filter if the accumulation of dust in the air filter exceeds a preset value(S200,S210).
