<p>A lawn bowling ball 1000 has a smoothly curved surface 10, wherein at least part of the surface are formed, in sunken relief, a pattern of dimples, depressions or indentations 100. The dimples are preferably concave and may be substantially spheroid or have a circular periphery. The dimples 100 may be formed to a maximal depth of between 0.2 mm to 2 mm. The dimples 100 may be of substantially identical topography formed in the shoulders 40 of the bowl 1000, and may be arranged as a series of concentric rings extending between the rings 20 and a running surface 30 along which the bowl 1000 is rolled during play.</p> |
