<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber cord for reinforcing rubber, which has a high elastic modulus that has not been achieved by conventional techniques, has improved heat-resistant adhesiveness between the polyester fiber cord and the rubber and an improved heat-resistant strength-holding property, when exposed to high temperature, and has fatigue resistance sufficient for practical uses, especially the polyester fiber cord for reinforcing the rubber, suitable for the cap ply cord of a radial tire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This polyester fiber cord for reinforcing the rubber, prepared by coating a polyester fiber cord with the first treating agent including at least (A) an oxazoline group-containing compound, (B) an epoxy compound, and (C) a rubber latex, and further coating the outer layer of the cord with the second treating agent containing resorcinol-formalin-rubber latex (RFL), characterized in that the components (A), (B) and (C) are contained in specific amounts, respectively.
