PURPOSE: A separator for a secondary battery is provided to control an engineering parameter in a battery by comprising a functional material, thereby improving battery safety. CONSTITUTION: A separator for a secondary battery comprises a pouch(240) which accommodates a functional material(250) for controlling an engineering parameter. The engineering parameter is temperature. The functional material is one or more selected from an absorbing agent, absorber, and electrolyte. The pouch is located in the end of the separator or the non-end of the separator. An electrode assembly comprises a positive electrode, negative electrode, and the separator between the positive electrode and negative electrode. |
