A motorized grass trimmer comprises a handle 2 and shaft 3 attached to a grass cutting unit 10, the unit being rotatable from a horizontal to a vertical position by means of foot lever 7. The shaft 3 is height adjustable by means of lever 4.The cutting unit has a safety guard 6, 8 which guards the cutting unit when both horizontal and vertical positions.
