A weldable extruded element 10 comprises a weldable metal body 18 having a post-weld profile adapted to flushly or substantially flushly abut another weldable metal body 18, a weld pool container 28 integrally formed as part of the weldable metal body 18, and a weld pool supply 30 integrally formed as part of the weldable metal body 18 and contiguous with the weld pool container 28. The weld pool supply 30 is a projecting adjunct to the post-weld profile of the weldable metal body 18. An exterior solar shading louvre 16 comprising at least two said weldable extruded elements 10 and a method of forming a flush or substantially flush welded join using such a weldable extruded element 10 are also provided. |
