<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To employ a re-transmission technology by ARQ, for suppressing network load to minimum and suppressing consumption of resources such as a memory, relating to a data transmission system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The network unit includes means for, if receiving a re-transmission request for data server triggering from a reception node side, starting a process as a re-transmission data server under the condition in which a function as the re-transmission data server is met, to preserve a data to be relayed, means for re-transmitting the preserved data when a data re-transmission request is received from the reception node side after the process as the re-transmission data server is started, and means to stop processing as the re-transmission data server when a re-transmission data server stop request is received from the reception node side.
