A vehicle seat belt connector comprises a plate member 10 adapted to be connected to an anchorage on the vehicle, and having a slot 29 for a strap 28 to be passed therethrough, and a planar slide member 24 slidable alongside the body member for clamping the strap against an edge of the slot, wherein a generally flat sleeve 20 extends over the body and slide members and wherein the slide member includes an end part 27 which extends outwardly and forms a tongue for manually operating the slide. As shown, the plate member 10 includes a hooked portion 11 arranged for latching engagement with a fixed member 12, the member 12 being retained by a pair of spring-loaded pawls 13 pivoted one on each face of the plate member 10. The pawls are releasable by means of the sleeve 20 which is slidable over the plate member and the end walls 20 a of which are engageable with the pawls 13. The slide member 24 is loaded to its operated position by one end 16b of a spring 16 which also loads the pawls 13. |
