A synthetic plastics toy-hub for use as a driving pulley or for securing gear-wheels, sprockets, discs, tyres, endless-tracks &c. to a shaft for rotation thereon or therewith has an axially adjustable peripheral groove, to grip the attached part or driving rope, formed between a flange 2a of a part 2 on the shaft and a corresponding part 10a of an axially deformable disc 10b moved axially by a screwed annular-cone 7 which may also be further adjusted to deform a mating axially split cone 1 of part 2 into loosely rotatable, or clamped engagement with the shaft. The parts 2, 7 have radial tightening rings 3, 8 and the hubgroove may be serrated or roughened with axial splines on an annular collar 4 of part 2 mating with corresponding splines on part 7. The hub part 7 may have an integral crank handle or a detachable one slidable over either of the parts 2, 7, slotted to engage the wings 3 or 8 and having light frictional engagement with the mounting shaft. |
