The method involves determining axle pressure of a drive axle (S410). Position of a vehicle is detected (S420) by a navigation system for determining permissible axle pressure on a current track. The determined axle pressure is compared with the permissible axle pressure (S430). The comparison result is displayed (S440). Position of supporting axles is controlled (S450) by a user of the vehicle based on the comparison result to lift wheels from the ground or to reduce the wheels to the track. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for improving performance of a vehicle (2) a computer program comprising a set of instruction for performing a method for improving performance of a vehicle.
