PURPOSE: A scent air conditioning apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to selectively diffuse the scent inside an elevator car with interlocking with the operation of the elevator car, thereby efficiently diffusing and managing the scent. CONSTITUTION: A scent air conditioning apparatus includes a body part, a scent container(30), a blowing fan(40), and a controller(60). The body part is installed at one side of a ventilator or an air conditioner duct(92), so that the body part communicates with the ventilator or the air conditioner duct. The scent container is equipped at the lower side inside the body part, houses scent substances, and selectively diffusing the scent substances outside. The blowing fan is installed a position at which the body part is installed at the ventilator or the air conditioner duct. The scent inside the body part flows into the ventilator or the air conditioner duct through the blowing fan. The controller controls whether the lid of the scent container is opened or closed and the actuation of the blowing fan so that the scent inside the scent container is selectively diffused inside an elevator car through blowing fan and the ventilator or the air conditioner duct.
