<p>PURPOSE: A user input sensing device and an electronic device including the same are provided to supply a new touch input method by using and calculating a touch area. CONSTITUTION: A touch panel(150) is touched by a user and generates an output signal of different sizes according to a touch area. An input sensing unit(250) calculates the touch area by using the output signal and touch coordinates by using the touch area. If the touch area is changed while the user maintains the touch state, an application processing unit(310) performs a designated operation. When the touch coordinates are activated in a fixed range for more than a predetermined time and a touch is sequentially detected from a touch cell and an adjacent touch cell, the application processing unit determines the maintenance of the touch state.
