PURPOSE: A reciprocating friction damper and an earthquake-resistant reinforcing device provide a friction damper absorbing earthquake energy using a frictional force and modularized by joining with a steel member, thereby being easily installable. CONSTITUTION: A reciprocating friction damper comprises an upper steel plate(110), a lower steel plate(120), a connection steel plate(130), a bolt(11), and a joining pin(22). A plurality of circular cut portions(55) is arranged in the upper steel plate around a bolt hole(44). A joining pin hole(66) is arranged in the lower steel plate. The connection plate is joined to the front and rear surfaces of the upper and lower steel plate, thereby connecting the same. The bolt and the joining pin join the upper steel plate, the lower steel plate, and the connection plate.
