PURPOSE: A multimedia apparatus and a method for guiding traffic information are provided to enable a user to receive a traffic information guide service by receiving traffic information of a traffic information channel from a user terminal. CONSTITUTION: A traffic information broadcasting station(400) provides traffic information received from a traffic information center(500). The traffic information broadcasting station forms the traffic information according to a TMC standard, a DMC standard, and a streaming data standard and transmits the traffic information. An application provider(300) provides a traffic information application to a user terminal(100) and includes an address list of the traffic information broadcasting station to receive the traffic information.
