PURPOSE: A face recognition device and a face recognition method thereof are provided to easily determine the position precision of feature points of a face by displaying a symbol or a character indicating detection reliability according to a feature point detecting method of the face. CONSTITUTION: A memory unit memorizes face feature information expressing features of a face. An input unit(101) inputs image information including the face. A face area detecting unit(102) detects a face area expressing the face from the image information inputted by the input unit. An extracting unit(106) extracts face feature information from the face area. A recognition unit(108) recognizes a person included in the image information based on the face feature information.
