PURPOSE: A set top box including a DLNA(Digital Living Network Alliance) gateway function and an operation method are provided to implement a virtual DLNA gateway to the set top box, and to use a DLNA function in a DLNA non-support device. CONSTITUTION: If a signal is detected from an AV terminal, a controller(21) registers a DLNA non-support device connected through a cable to a memory. If a DLNA device confirmation request is received from a DLNA support device, a processor(22) provides a virtual DLNA list which referred the memory to the DLNA support device.
