The present invention refers to a process for the conversion of biomass into carbon nanoparticles and graphite material. A process for obtaining carbon nanoparticles, such as buckyonions and nano-crystals. The invention is intended to provide solutions to the accumulation of debris using the same for generating other products. A renewable resource is used for the generation of nanostructured materials. The products obtained by this process have potential energetic application such as capacitors, energy collectors and fuel cells. The invention is also intended to use the biomass (residue) from further processes, thus promoting the sustainability of the environment.
