PURPOSE: A cable control device and a controlling method thereof are provided to stably control a cable connected to a free moving device by including a cable processing unit and a control unit. CONSTITUTION: A cable processing unit(100) winds or unwinds a cable connected to a moving body. A control unit(200) includes a location calculating module(210), a cable length calculating module(220), a control module(230), and a monitoring module(240). The location calculating module detects the location of the moving body. The cable length calculating module calculates a sag length of the cable. The control module operates the cable processing unit. The monitoring module monitors a contact between the cable and the outside. The control unit minimizes tension applied to the moving body by controlling the cable processing unit.
