PURPOSE: A connecting rod of an internal combustion engine is provided to relieve impact caused by the explosion power of the internal combustion engine to a connecting rod and each part and to transmit the explosion power effectively and simultaneously for rotating a crank. CONSTITUTION: A connecting rod of an internal combustion engine comprises a rod unit(22). The rod unit is divided into an upper portion(221) and a lower portion(222). The upper and lower portions are slide-joined within a constant moving range(D). A spring(45) is installed in between the upper and lower portions. The upper portion slides to the lower portion instantaneously in the explosion of the internal combustion engine so that the length of the connecting rod becomes shorter. When the explosion power of the internal combustion engine is less than the preset range, the length of the connection rod becomes longer.
