PURPOSE: A portable terminal and an operation control method thereof are provided to offer a directive interface to a user in the portable terminal including a transparent display. CONSTITUTION: A sensing unit(140) detects a direction of a user for a portable terminal. A transparent display unit displays images. A control unit(180) controls the transparent display unit in order to convert a display direction of the image based on the detected direction. The control unit controls the transparent display unit in order to reverse the image based on the display direction. The control unit controls the transparent display unit in order to display an interface related to a camera based on the display direction.
