<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems in a conventional air cleaner wherein contaminants are eliminated mainly by a filter, but since the filter is plugged to lower elimination efficiency, cleaning and replacement are frequently needed, and although there is a system or the like for cleaning air by exposing indoor air to silica gel for chemically adsorbing the contaminants to solve the problem, the contaminants adsorbed by the silica gel eventually reach saturation and are diffused again. <P>SOLUTION: Rhombic storage bodies enclosing special silica gel mixed with a photocatalyst are fitted in positions where a light source of visible light is not intercepted, in a casing provided with an intake port and an exhaust port.
