<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller which prevents even toner having excellent fixability from adhering to a regulation blade without an increase of the number of components and complication of a system and stably forms an image having high quality, a developing device having the developing roller, an image forming apparatus having the developing device, and an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: A developing roller has at least a core bar, and an elastic rubber layer on an outer circumference of the core bar. An outermost surface layer of the developing roller has toner conveyance means and toner layer regulation blade attached toner scraping means. The toner scraping means has recesses and protrusions having waves inclined in a circumferential direction. The protrusions of the recesses and protrusions each have a front face rising steeply in an inclined wall shape from the recess on an upstream side in a roller rotation direction to an apex of the wave, and a gradually descending rear face gently lowered from the apex toward the recess positioned at an end in a downstream side. Further, a difference in indentation power obtained by a microhardness measuring method is 10 to 21% in the same circumferential direction on a surface of the developing roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
