<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device and a method for controlling the same, securely performing restart by detecting by a CPU module occurrence of abnormality in a communication module. <P>SOLUTION: A check program in a communication module of a sub-station monitoring device periodically updates a value in a memory of the CPU module. If abnormally occurs in the check program or an OS of the communication module, by using that the update thereof is suspended, a user program in the CPU module transmits a reset signal to the communication module, to restart and automatically restore from software abnormality. At the restart of the communication module, monitor data are read from the CPU module and a central monitoring device, so as to prevent the monitor data and control data from being reset to zero. By the transmission of a sub-station communication module operation continuation time to the center, it is monitored from the center that the sub-station communication module is restarted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
