To acquire up-down parallax image data and left-right parallax image data, it has been necessary to separately prepare imaging devices in positions corresponding to the respective visual points of the two types of data. In view of this, there is provided an imaging element comprising a photoelectric conversion element arrayed two-dimensionally for photoelectrically converting incident light to electrical signals, and an aperture mask provided to the photoelectric conversion element; a photoelectric conversion element group comprising a series of n (n being an integer of 4 or greater) photoelectric conversion elements being arrayed periodically, and the aperture of the aperture mask being positioned eccentrically so as to be line-symmetric to two orthogonal axes established relative to the two-dimensional array of the photoelectric conversion element group.
