<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of keeping an AC 0 W energy saving mode state and recovering from the energy saving mode state to a usable state according to a recovery factor, irrespective of an installation environment of the apparatus, etc. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an energy generation section 102 that generates supply power different from the power supplied from a commercial power supply; a power storage section 103 that stores the power generated by the energy generation section 102; an external medium 150 that includes a battery 151, is connected to an apparatus main body and supplies power from the battery 151; a detection circuit 106 that detects the connection of the external medium 150 to the apparatus main body; a switching circuit 104 that switches the power supply between the power from the storage section 103 and the power from the external medium 150; a recovery detection section 112 that detects a recovery from an energy saving mode state to a normal mode by the detection of connection with the external medium 150 by the detection circuit 106; and a power supply control section 111 that supplies the power from the battery 151 of the external medium 150 to a power supply requiring device when the recovery is detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
