As part of the method for the diagnosis of defects in components of chassis systems of motor vehicles, vibrations created by rotating components (1) of the chassis system on the basis of an unbalance (4) are filtered in such a manner that the frequency range dependent on the wheel torque is filtered, which frequency range comprises the vibrations of the rotating components caused by an unbalance, wherein in an evaluation device (7) the signals of at least one sensor (8) that is arranged on the wheel support side and associated with the component (3) to be diagnosed and of at least one sensor (9) that is arranged on the motor vehicle body side and associated with the component (3) to be diagnosed are captured and stored for a predetermined measurement duration, wherein the amplitudes of the sensor signals are sorted by increasing frequency and the mechanical impedance of the transfer chain is determined, wherein the determined mechanical impedance of the component (3) to be diagnosed is compared with the known impedance of the component (3) to be diagnosed in the undamaged state, and wherein if a deviation of the determined impedance of the component (3) to be diagnosed from the known impedance of the component (3) to be diagnosed in the undamaged state is recognized, a defect of the component (3) to be diagnosed is recognized. |
