A projection image automatic correction system (1) comprises the following: a projection image frame detection unit (101) for detecting straight lines that constitute the frame of screen projection images, on the basis of image pick-up images that are screen projection images projected onto a screen by a projector and picked up by a camera; and a projector plane parameter estimation unit (102) that determines coordinate axes for projector images which are the original images of screen projection images and for image pick-up images, and that uses the inclination of the light axis of a projector and a camera and the distance between optical centers, internal camera parameters, coordinate data of straight lines detected in the coordinates of image pick-up images, and coordinate data of straight lines corresponding to frames in the coordinates of projector images, to estimate at least one from among the distance between the screen and the projector, the inclination of the screen with respect to the light axis of the projector, and the zoom ratio of the projector.
