<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image carrier to favorably follow random disturbance while reducing an energy loss without increasing a cost. <P>SOLUTION: An image carrier such as a photosensitive drum 100 is driven by a brushless DC motor 10. The driving speed of the image carrier is detected by an encoder 113, and a controller 400, a motor driver IC 300, and a drive circuit 200 control a drive current to be passed to the brushless DC motor according to the driving speed and a preset target speed. When a short brake signal for braking the brushless DC motor is turned on, the controller, the motor driver IC and the drive circuit generate a current inverse to the driving current to be passed to the brushless DC motor to brake the brushless DC motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
