<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive headlamp apparatus capable of forming converged and diffused light-distribution patterns. <P>SOLUTION: The automotive headlamp apparatus 10 includes a light source 14 wherein a plurality of semiconductor light-emitting elements are disposed at intervals, a projection lens 16 for projecting light emitted from the light source as a light source image in front of the vehicle, and a magnification change mechanism 22 provided on the vehicle front side of the projection lens 16 and changing a magnification of the light source image.
