MOVING IMAGE CODING DEVICE, METHOD OF THE SAME, MOVING IMAGE DECODING DEVICE, AND METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance image quality by addition of a small amount of data.

SOLUTION: The moving image coding device includes a first coding part, a difference calculation part, a first pixel range conversion part, and a second coding part. The first coding part performs first coding processing to an input image to generate first coded data and performs first decoding processing to the first coded data to generate a first decoded image. The difference calculation part generates a difference image between the input image and the first decoded image. The first pixel range conversion part generates a first converted image by converting a pixel value of the difference image into a first specific range. The second coding part performs second coding processing which is different from the first coding processing to the first converted image to generate a second coded data. The first specific range is a range contained in the range of the pixel value which can be coded by the second coding part.
