<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: A conventional fault diagnosis method, using that a zero-phase current is zero, focusing attention on a load connected to an output having a balanced three-phase for a three-phase current detector connected to an output stage of a three-phase inverter for control thereof, has a low probability of fault detection. <P>SOLUTION: The zero crosses of currents are detected, 1) current values detected by a current detector through which currents with other values than zero run are compared, or 2) a phase difference between voltages and currents is compared to a specified value for each zero cross.
